Warminster Town Council’s free dinosaur trail, featuring six models across five locations, has been a roaring success, and the much-loved dinosaurs have now left the town.
The trail encouraged thousands of visitors and residents to get involved by finding each dinosaur, entering the word scramble prize draw and enjoying dinosaur-themed activities throughout the summer holidays.
Local businesses worked together to support the event, creating a “real buzz” around the town as Warminster became Roarminster, bringing in extra spending and positive publicity.

‘Come back and visit us again’
Cllr Jack Jones, Mayor of Warminster, said: “Roarminster has shown what creative town centre events can achieve, and I would love to see us build on its success.
“Events and trails like this encourage people to explore places they might not normally visit, increase footfall for businesses and create memorable experiences for local families.
“Over the last couple of months, Roarminster has helped create a real buzz around Warminster. Alongside the fantastic events taking place across the town, it has helped make this a summer to remember.
“I hope Roarminster visitors have discovered something new about Warminster and, most importantly, will come back and visit us again.”
A Warminster Town Council spokesperson added: “Our brilliant dinosaurs have been a wonderful addition, but it is time for the town to become Warminster once again.
“We would like to thank the thousands of people who visited the town, the hundreds who took part in the trail, and the wonderful local businesses that helped make it such a memorable success.
“The event attracted people from across the South West, and we are proud to have hosted these incredible dinosaurs and delighted that so many people enjoyed them.
“The aim was to create an attraction that increased footfall, supported local businesses and boosted Warminster town centre. It was a roaring success and Warminster Town Council will be back with another event for everyone next summer.”
