The popular Lake Pleasure Grounds in Warminster remains one of the country’s best parks after retaining its Green Flag Award for 2026/27.
The public space (Weymouth Street, Warminster, BA12 9NP) continues to receive praise and is maintained by the Warminster Town Council grounds team for the community.
Green Flags celebrate parks that are well-maintained for users and nature. The Green Flag Award scheme was launched in 1997 and is managed by the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy.

‘One of the best parks in Wiltshire’
Cllr Stacie Allensby, Chair of the Parks & Estate Committee, said: “Warminster is immensely proud of the Lake Pleasure Grounds and maintaining the area is a real team effort, between staff, councillors and the public.
“We are delighted that the Lake Pleasure Grounds has once again been recognised with the prestigious Green Flag Award status.
“We think it is one of the best parks in Wiltshire and believe it offers something for everyone – it’s a significant attraction in our town.
“We will continue to protect and improve the Lake Pleasure Grounds after breathing new life into the community space. Everyone is proud of the park, and it is well respected by residents and visitors.”
The park is currently averaging over 20,000 visitors a month and has free upcoming events including Roarminster, Ice Cream & Bubbles Festival (Saturday 1st August), a free climbing wall (Tuesday 4th August and Tuesday 18th August) as well as free stake events (Friday 12th August and Wednesday 26th August).
The popular area has many brilliant facilities including a highly-used splash pad, play park, tennis courts, skate park as well as the Pavilion Parlour – and Warminster Town Council remain committed to ongoing investment.
