Warminster Town Council: Delivering a brighter, greener future for all

Town Mayor committed to keeping town tidy with more litter picks planned

5 June 2026

The Mayor of Warminster, Cllr Jack Jones, remains committed to keeping Warminster tidy as he looks to expand local litter picks and support a group of local volunteers.

Jack continues in his role as Warminster Town Council Litter Pick Champion following a decision at the Town Development Committee on Monday 1st June 2026.

Jack regularly supports community clean-ups, champions local environmental campaigns, and works closely with local groups and schools. He has praised the community spirit of the town as he currently supports 42 volunteers who tackle litter around various areas in Warminster.

Cllr Jones explained: “Keeping Warminster clean and tidy is something I’m incredibly passionate about, and I’m proud to continue serving as the town’s Litter Pick Champion.

“We now have 42 registered volunteer litter pickers who take responsibility for their own areas across Warminster, which is a fantastic example of community spirit in action.

“Together, we are making a real difference to the appearance of our town and helping to protect our local environment.

“Following the success of our Great British Spring Clean event earlier this year, we are currently looking at organising another community litter pick on a Sunday during the summer months.

“It will be a great opportunity for residents, families, community groups and local organisations to come together and make a positive impact.

“Warminster is a town we can all be proud of, and I would encourage anyone interested in getting involved to join us. Every piece of litter picked up makes a difference.”
