When you’re ready for a change of pace take a short stroll from the town centre to visit the Warminster Lake Pleasure Grounds which has been awarded a green flag. This gem has something for everyone to enjoy; they are home to a space themed splash pad with 12 water features and a paddling pool with sluice gate as well as an exciting new Lava Trail. While you relax with a coffee from the Pavilion Café you can take in the views of the boating lake and abundant wildlife or if you’re feeling more energetic you could challenge your friends to a game of tennis (racquet hire available) or pitch and putt, and then take a stroll around the lake following the Tree Trail; a guide is available from the Pavilion Café. Be sure to plan your visit and bring the whole family.

One of Warminster’s biggest and most popular events is Spring in the Park which is held on the Sunday of the May Day Bank Holiday weekend. Warminster welcomes thousands of people for a May Day family fun event. Set in the beautiful Warminster Lake Pleasure Grounds this event attracts visitors from far and wide. Stalls line either side of the lake selling crafts and delicious produce and local charities are invited to run a fun activity stall while raising funds for worthwhile causes. You will find plenty of treats on offer too with hot food from our sizzling barbeque, ice creams and cakes from the Pavilion Café and our ever-popular beer tent. A programme of entertainment continues throughout the day including the crowd-pleasing dog show which has a category for every pooch, so sit back and enjoy the acts in the arena. A visit to the donkeys at the far end of the lake is a must where children can be treated to a ride.  While the park is bustling take in the peace of the lake and hire one of our rowing boats or canoes. We look forward to welcoming you to Spring in the Park and hope you will visit us soon.  For more information on our events follow our Facebook page @warminstertowncouncil
