Warminster Town Council has a new Town Mayor. Cllr Stacie Allensby was unanimously elected as Chairman of the Council and Town Mayor for 2024-25 at a Full Council meeting on Monday 13th May.
Cllr Allensby joined the council three years ago – is married with two children and has lived in Warminster for most of her life. Her outside interests include looking after her many animals.
Cllr Allensby is looking forward to her new role and doing the best for and by the people of Warminster, as well as engaging with the younger population having recently been appointed as a Youth Champion alongside Cllr Jones.

The Mayor’s charities for 2024 – 2025 will be the Wiltshire Air Ambulance and the Westbury and Warminster Youth Club.
The newly elected Mayor read out and signed the Declaration of Acceptance of Office and delivered it to the Town Clerk. Cllr Allensby was then invested with the chain of office and returned thanks for her election.
The new Mayor of Warminster said: “I thank my fellow Councillors for their nomination and belief. I wish to thank the former Mayor, Councillor Phil Keeble for his support and guidance. I would like to thank the late councillors Fryer and Syme for their support. I will do my best for and by the people of Warminster.”
Cllr Andrew Cooper was nominated as Vice Chairman of the council, and Deputy Town Mayor. Cllr Cooper has lived in Warminster for 10 years since retiring from the military and has previously been a Parish Priest. His other interests include restoring vintage engines.
He joined Warminster Town Council three years ago. Cllr Cooper spends time supporting military veterans in the community, fighting to improve unsafe parking issues in Broadway and has been engaging with Selwood Housing to ensure those misplaced due to the imminent demolition of flats in the ward are better supported.
The retiring Mayor, Cllr Phil Keeble, passed on thanks, for the privilege of his year in office. He said: “I would like to thank councillors for allowing me the privilege of my year in office. I have thoroughly enjoyed my year, visiting many organisations and charities and hopefully helping them to raise awareness and funds.”
