Boats and canoes to launch from Lake Pleasure Grounds in Warminster

Boats and canoes will be available to hire from the Lake Pleasure Grounds (Weymouth Street, Warminster, BA12 9NP) from Saturday 3rd May.

The boats and canoes were very popular last year and offer visitors a unique way of exploring the park. The boats – which can take up to four people, cost £8 for 30 minutes. Canoes will cost £5 to hire for 30 minutes and can take up to two people.

The boats and canoes will be available to hire during weekends and school holidays, 11am to 4pm with the last hire at 4pm. Card payments only, with payment taken at the jetty. The boats and/or canoes cannot be pre-booked.

A Warminster Town Council spokesperson said:

It’s great news that boats and canoes are back and available to hire as we continue to offer even more for visitors at the Lake Pleasure Grounds. We are so proud of the park as we prepare to welcome thousands of visitors for Spring in the Park 2025 on Sunday 4th May.

Please come and explore, check out the improvements at the Pavilion Café as well as make use of our other wonderful facilities during this spell of nice weather.

The Warminster Lake Pleasure Grounds has recently reopened the popular splash pad for the season, offering a fun free activity for visitors, as well as the skate park, lava trail and play park.

Tennis courts and pickleball courts are becoming increasingly popular with the weather improving

To book either a tennis or pickleball court you’ll need to register with the LTA here and then book via Clubspark. Courts need to be booked online prior to arrival. Tennis, pickleball and golf equipment can be hired from the café during opening hours.
