The evening dark was filled with lights as over 140 pumpkins lit up the Warminster Lake Pleasure Grounds on Wednesday 29th October for the popular event, Pumpkins in the Park 2025.
The line of pumpkins stretched from the Pavilion Café towards the boathouse. Hundreds of Warminster residents were wowed by the stunning display of creativity with designs ranging from the traditional to the innovative.
The event, hosted by Warminster Town Council, provided fun for all the family, including a spectacular LED light show extravaganza by Amore Entertainment, who delighted the crowd with an amazing performance. Warminster Model Boat Club entertained people with an impressive display of lit up boats on the lake. Food, drink and sweet treats were also on sale for visitors and proved popular.
Warminster Town Mayor, Councillor Andrew Cooper and Deputy Mayor, Councillor Jack Jones had a tough time judging the free competition. Councillor Cooper said it was one of the hardest decisions they had had to make. The mayor thanked everyone for their effort and enthusiasm which made for such an enjoyable and fun way to spend an evening. In awarding the prizes, the judges chose one traditional design, one innovative design and one pumpkin carved by a child.
The three winners, who each received a certificate and B&M gift voucher were: Xanthe, age 5, Harper, age 8 and the Focsa Family.
Councillor Cooper said
“I am delighted that people have so strongly supported this event. Last year we had just over 100 pumpkins, this year, 140, next year we will aim for 200. We were blessed by the weather this year, even though it was a rainy day during a rainy week, not a drop fell while the event was on.
“Warminster Town Council has a growing reputation for putting on events for the whole community to enjoy. We are so pleased with the success of Pumpkins in the Park and we look forward to the super Christmas Market and Lights Switch On, on Saturday 29th November.”
