Lake Pleasure Grounds set for busy half term with free activities including 8m climbing wall, skate event, yoga and splash pad fun

The popular Lake Pleasure Grounds (Weymouth Street, Warminster, BA12 9NP) will be alive with activity this half term with hot weather predicted and free activities provided by Warminster Town Council.

The splash pad is expected to be busy over the weekend as families head to the park to cool off. The town council is reminding visitors to follow safety rules stated on the signage in the splash pad area. All children must wear costumes and infants must wear a swim nappy.

Pets, scooters, bicycles and anything that might damage the safety surface are not allowed and food and drink must not be consumed on the splash pad.

The splash pad is now open daily for the 2026 season, 10am to 6pm – joining other free activities available in the park this half term including the large play park, lava trail and skate park.

Additional paid for activities include tennis, pickleball, the putting green as well as boats and canoes available to hire on the lake throughout the bank holiday weekend.

Another free to attend Park Yoga Warminster will be held on Sunday 24th May, from 9.30am to 10.30am – with residents and visitors invited to stretch, strengthen and unwind on the putting green with no booking required.

A Community Skate Park Day will be held on Tuesday 26th May, 11am to 3pm, with free coaching available from 11am to 12pm and equipment provided ahead of a fun competition. The event is open to all ages and abilities to showcase their skills with prizes and music available.

The popular Wiltshire Outdoor Learning Team (WOLT) will be back in the park on Wednesday 27th May, with their 8m climbing wall – following further funding from Warminster Town Council.

Interested children, aged 6 to 17 can tackle the impressive climbing wall from 9am to 4pm – please note WOLT must have parental consent for every child that climbs and have a parent/guardian in attendance.

The nearby Pavilion Parlour will be open thoughout half term, selling ice cream, drinks, snacks as well as splash pad accessories.

People are asked to park considerately if visiting the Lake Pleasure Grounds via car by using nearby car parks and not double parking on Weymouth Street.
