Warminster Town Council has cemented its commitment to working with the local younger population following a new agreement with Westbury and Warminster Youth Club.
Councillors agreed to another year of detached youth worker provision, with the intention that it should be renewed every year for a period of three years. This follows the initial agreement which comes to an end in June 2025.
The Westbury and Warminster Youth Club work with young people for two hours an evening four evenings a week all year round, working with schools, Wiltshire Police and other agencies. The team help develop resilience to youth offending and anti-social behaviour, as well as providing the young people of Warminster with an outlet for some much-needed fun.

Cllr Jack Jones said:
Warminster Youth Club has played an important role in the detached youth work over the previous 12 months and it is clear that youth work isn’t just about activities—it’s about giving young people the space, support, and inspiration they need to thrive.
Investing the time and effort into youth support means investing in the future of Warminster, empowering the next generation to lead, grow, and contribute positively to our community.
As well as a continued investment in youth work, Warminster Town Council recently provided funds for free canoeing activities as well as axe throwing, archery and a climbing wall to be held in the Lake Pleasure Grounds for local children aged 6 to 17, with further free sessions scheduled throughout the year.
Furthermore, the town council has additional free events that appeal to the local younger population in 2025 including more free skatepark events, Ice Cream & Bubbles Festival and Pumpkins in the Park. This is part of a joined-up approach to offer a range of free and accessible activities that engage with the younger population of Warminster.
Members resolved to enter into an agreement with Westbury and Warminster Youth Club for a period of one year of detached youth worker provision in Warminster at a cost of £23,000.
