Unwanted tech can now be donated in Warminster to help those in need via Wiltshire Digital Drive (WDD) Community Interest Company (CIC).
Devices can be dropped off at a new donation centre in Warminster Civic Centre (Sambourne Road, Warminster BA12 8LB), from 9am to 4.30pm and the refurbished devices will then be redistributed to schools, charities and voluntary organisations.
Unwanted laptops and tablets can be donated. Smartphones are also accepted and distributed through WDD partner organisations.

In order to refurbish a laptop, it will need to run a Windows 8 or 10 operating system at a minimum. It will also need the matching charging cable for the device, but WDD cannot accept these if the cable is damaged, or any of the internal wires are exposed. The laptop screen and trackpad will need to be working and undamaged.
For tablets and smartphones, if possible, ensure that any donated items have had their passwords removed and are factory reset before being donated.
All devices are wiped to government standards and graded to decide the best route for re-use. WDD will then refurbish and redistribute the secondhand tech.
The CIC is on a mission to fix the digital divide by 2030 while tackling the UK’s growing e-waste problem and needs second-hand tech to help Wiltshire communities. Since 2020, WDD has re-distributed 3,500 devices to individuals and organisations across the county.
WDD works alongside schools, charities, organisations and council services across Wiltshire and the Southwest to connect devices with those that need them most.
Unfortunately, WDD are currently unable to accept any printers, photocopiers, unsorted cables, CDs or other misc. electronics.
When required, the work to recycle anything unusable is completed by Blackmore UK, a Wiltshire-based company that operates a zero-landfill policy and holds the highest data safety accreditation level achievable in the UK.
