Warminster Town Council: Delivering a brighter, greener future for all

Nominate your local hero for a town council Civic Award

2 October 2025

The Warminster Town Council Civic Awards have opened for 2025 to highlight and celebrate people and businesses who work voluntarily to improve life in Warminster.

The winners will be invited to an award ceremony where they will receive a certificate presented by the Mayor of Warminster, Cllr Andrew Cooper, and be joined by family and friends for an afternoon tea.

Any member of the public can nominate an individual or group for an award.  Award winners will be decided at the Full Council meeting on Monday 24th November. The closing date for nominations is Monday 10th November.

Mayor of Warminster, Cllr Andrew Cooper said:

“I’m so pleased the Warminster Town Council Civic Awards are returning for another year, this is a really great opportunity to nominate someone in the town that goes the extra mile and makes a difference to our wonderful community.

Nominate people who have gone above and beyond – don’t hold back – nominate someone”.

Do you know an individual or a group who dedicates themselves to helping others or is involved in voluntary work for the benefit of Warminster? Then nominate them for the 2025 Civic Awards.

In previous years, awards have been given to a vast range of people, who have all made a contribution to the town.  The are four different categories.

  • The Civic Award (over 18 years of age), given to an individual who has made a significant difference for the community of Warminster.
  • The Junior Civic Award (under the age of 18), given to an individual for achievement within the community.
  • The Green Civic Award for environmental issues – for setting an example or changing behaviour of others – which can be awarded to an individual or group.
  • The Environmental Award for businesses, to recognise their contribution towards tackling climate change and working towards net zero.

This year the rules have been changed so that businesses can nominate themselves for the Environmental Award.

The judging of nominees is carried out by the members of Warminster Town Council and is based on:

  • highlighting the example of community spirit, focusing on those who have ‘gone the extra mile’.
  • motivating others to act positively, which will be considered as important as individual efforts.

To nominate an individual or business for a 2025 Civic Award complete the nomination form on the Town council website or call in at the civic centre for a paper copy.
