Warminster Town Council gives away free water butt to residents

Warminster Town Council teamed up with Wessex Water to give away 80 free water butts to help residents save water.

The town council initially gave away 35 water butts to selected residents as part of the Watermark Town Award scheme.

The town council had a limited number of water butts available and gave the remaining water butts to residents on a first come first served basis on Monday 15th December. There is no further free water butts available.

A Warminster Town Council spokesperson said: “As part of Warminster Town Council’s commitment to help manage surface water and reduce the risk of localised flooding, residents were offered a free water butt.”

“This initiative is part of the Watermark Town Awards scheme and aims to help reduce surface water flooding and promote sustainable water use in the community.”
