Warminster Town Council: Delivering a brighter, greener future for all

Entertainment announced and new stallholders added to packed Independent Spring Market

11 March 2024

Preparations are in full swing ahead of the first exciting Independent Spring Market on Sunday 24th March with a packed line-up of live music, entertainment and local stallholders set to take over Warminster.

Warminster Town Council and the Warminster Business Network (WBN) once again join together to host a large independent market, spread across the town and in the Civic Centre. From 10am to 6pm more than 80 stalls will greet visitors with the High Street and Market Place closed and an indoor market at the Civic Centre.

Sticky Toffee Jazz (singer), Wade Merritt (musician), Jane Bennett (singer) and Jane Truckle (drummer) are all set to be perform throughout the whole day in the St Lawrence’s Chapel garden.

The Warminster community are encouraged to support the many independent stalls, shops and services across the whole of the town – with residents encouraged to make a day of it.

Warminster eateries will be open as well as food and drink vendors including Baked Spud by Lions Book club, Sian Street Food Ltd, Churros Company and Gabbys Ice Cream. The Athenaeum Limelight players will be joining in the fun by providing entertainment with free storytelling and craft activities.

A WBN spokesperson said:

We are encouraging people and potential stallholders to support the first Independent Spring Market as we urge people into Warminster and create a sense of community. There is still time to get involved and we encourage anyone interested to get in touch and make this a huge event for the town.”

If you would like to be a part of the market in the town centre, please email: thewarminsterindependent@gmail.com

Mayor of Warminster, Cllr Phil Keeble added:

Building on the success and such positive feedback of the Christmas Lights switch-on and markets, we are once again working with the WBN. This is the first of four street markets that we have planned for this year with lots of exciting activities to come.”

As the event is on a Sunday, parking will be available at Wiltshire Council car parks around Warminster, costing just 70p for the whole day.

Exciting further information will be released via the Warminster Town Council website and social media pages.

Residents are encouraged to walk to the event if possible – road closures (High Street and Market Place) will be in place and parking limited.
