Warminster Town Council: Delivering a brighter, greener future for all

Lake reopens in Warminster Lake Pleasure Grounds

18 July 2024

The lake in the Warminster Lake Pleasure Grounds has reopened to the public. The lake has been closed since Tuesday 2nd July due to a blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) bloom, with no boats available to hire and the model boat club not meeting at the park.

The situation has been carefully monitored by the Warminster Town Council parks team and following a change in the weather, the bloom has now cleared.

Warminster Town Council will continue to monitor the water regularly and keep in regular communication with The Environment Agency.

Boats will be available to hire from the Lake Pleasure Grounds on Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 4pm, costing £6 to rent a boat and £4 to rent a canoe (for 30 minutes).
