Warminster Town Council: Delivering a brighter, greener future for all

New scheme required to encourage visitors into Warminster as parking partnership ends

29 February 2024

New ideas are being sought to help encourage people to shop locally in Warminster with the ending of the Warminster Parking Partnership (WPP).

A loyalty card type scheme, with shoppers being entered into a free prize draw when spending more than £10 at a participating local business had been proposed by the Warminster Business Network. However was rejected by councillors at the Town Development Committee meeting on Monday 26th February.

Alterative ideas will now be explored with a budget of around £4,000 for the scheme. If you would like to suggest alternative options email: admin@warminster-tc.gov.uk.

Free parking is often suggested but the cost would be in the region of £45,000 to cover one hour’s free parking and around £90,000 to cover parking for two hours.
