Trio Paradis Café Concert: Flower Gardens

Trio Paradis play a Café Concert at the Athenaeum on the first Friday afternoon of each month at 3.00pm: a 45-minute concert (violin, cello & piano) with a pop-up café serving home-made cakes, where you can meet friends for a chat after the concert (c3.45 – 4.15pm)

June’s programme is inspired by flowers and gardens, with roses (from Schubert Heidenröslein to Fauré Roses d’Isphahan and Strauss’s Roses from the South…), meadow flowers by Danish composer Rud Langgaard, and violets from Croatian pianist-composer Dora Pejacevic and English songwriter Muriel Herbert. Lili Boulanger’s lovely piece D’un Jardin clair also makes an appearance. 

Concerts last c45mins and entrance (or rather, exit!) is by donation, with a retiring collection.
