Warminster Town Council: Delivering a brighter, greener future for all

Register for popular Warminster Christmas Window Competition

21 November 2024

As the town begins to transform for the festive season, local businesses still have time to register for the annual Warminster Christmas Window Competition.

This year Warminster Town Council is inviting businesses to have fun with a carol theme by transforming their windows across the town.

If your business would like to take part, please register by Thursday 28th November so that participating premises can be added to the voting poll, with voting open from Saturday 30th November until midnight on Wednesday 18th December.

If your business would like to take part, you can register by filling out the registration form here https://forms.office.com/e/gjA8rzQ8bb. Alternatively, email admin@warminster-tc.gov.uk or phone 01985 214847.

The Christmas Window Competition, organised by Warminster Town Council, is sponsored by Chantry Court, Retirement Village – and thanks to them there are some wonderful prizes including a £100 luxury hamper, a £30 taphouse voucher and a selection of luxury biscuits.

A Warminster Town Council spokesperson said:

We want to include as many retailers as possible, so if you are able to represent a traditional carol that would be great, but if your window represents a traditional song, is slightly abstract, a play on words or just contains a nod to a carol that’s great too.

Votes can be placed either in person at the Civic Centre in Sambourne Road or by completing an online poll. All participating retailers will be issued with a “how to vote” poster for their window or premises, with a QR code that will take visitors and residents to the voting page.

Voting will close on Wednesday 18th December at midnight and the three displays with the highest number of votes will be announced on Thursday 19th December.

The competition will launch on the same day as the highly anticipated Christmas Market and Lights Switch-On, which this year includes the independent market, Santa’s Grotto, entertainment and Lord and Lady Bath switching on the lights at 5.30pm on Saturday 30th November.
