Warminster Town Council was pleased to serve up a great day for all the family with the very first ‘Ice Cream and Bubbles Festival’ on Saturday 3rd August.

Thousands of people attended the event held in the popular Lake Pleasure Grounds from 12pm to 5pm, that featured multiple varieties of delicious ice cream with a fun and relaxed atmosphere enjoyed by all.

Squidge and Pop entertained many excited children with a bubble show, walkabouts and interactive bubbles (sponsored by Farnfields Solicitors). Additional entertainment was provided from Lucy Lost-It and her balloon modelling skills – there was also sand art with Marlowe’s Mini Makers.

Visitors made good use of the splash pad, putting golf, skate park, play park, lava trail and boats in the Lake Pleasure Grounds throughout the day. Warminster Community Radio (WCR) were also in attendance providing summer music and updates, which really added to the atmosphere.

Councillor Stacie Allensby, Mayor of Warminster, said: “This was another really special, good fun and well organised event. Warminster Town Council are committed to putting on regular events for all in Warminster to enjoy as we make use of our wonderful community spaces. The event was so popular, that we have plans for this to be a regular annual event.”

There was also a special Ice Cream & Bubble themed Mayor’s Charity Tombola, which raised £525 for the Mayor’s chosen charities – Westbury and Warminster Youth Club and Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
