The Lake Pleasure Grounds welcomed a group of committed supporters for a Twilight Walk on Thursday 5th February.
Organised by Holly, a student from Warminster School, the pupil-led project was in support for UK-based charity Strut Safe, a phone line where volunteers act as a friendly voice for those walking home alone at night.
A mixture of students, teachers, parents and friends battled the wet and windy weather to raise awareness and funds for the charity – setting off at 7pm from Warminster School, arriving in the Lake Pleasure Grounds before heading back into the town.

Holly explained:
We’re raising awareness and money for this amazing charity called Strut Safe – a UK wide phone line that anyone of any gender can call through from Thursday to Sunday.
I’ve always had a sort of vital awareness of being a young woman myself and that idea how vulnerable we can be. It’s a great turnout, and then we’ve got people that have donated and supported.”
On return to school, students held a vigil for those who haven’t been so lucky to return home safe after a night out and we were joined by Sarah Dyke MP.
Strut Safe is a volunteer-operated and non-judgemental support line. For more information click here.
