Warminster Town Council: Delivering a brighter, greener future for all

Parking restrictions set for Weymouth Street following Wiltshire Council decision

11 May 2026

Double yellow lines in for Weymouth Street have been approved by Wiltshire Council Cabinet Member for Highways, Streetscene and Flooding, Cllr Martin Smith.

Wiltshire Council will now appoint a contractor to carry out the work, which should be completed in around two months time.

Warminster Town Council previously endorsed double yellow lines on one side of Weymouth Street following discussions at the Highways Advisory Committee in September 2025.

It is recognised the decision won’t please everyone with the loss of free parking balanced against the problems of congestion caused by high usage and poor parking.

It is expected that the parking restrictions will improve access to and from the town centre via Weymouth Street as well as making the roads easier and safer for residents and visitors.
