Sustainable Warminster invites the community to its third Energy Advice Tea Party on 25 January, 12-3 pm at the Warminster Civic Centre. This free event offers one-to-one, informal, practical guidance and tips from experts to help residents reduce energy costs and improve home energy efficiency.

Visitors can sit with energy experts for an informal chat tailored to their needs. The event aims to help people with practical advice and strategies to save energy, reduce bills, and understand the impact of their energy choices on their homes and the environment, according to organisers.

Sustainable Warminster is excited to welcome a range of organisations providing specialised advice and support:

  • Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks – Information on network services and making emergency plans for powercuts
  • National Energy Action – Guidance from a fuel poverty charity
  • Cranborne Chase National Landscape Dark Sky Reserve – Tips for reducing light pollution and finding better eco-friendly lighting
  • The Centre for Sustainable Energy – Retrofitting and Home Energy Survey advice
  • Wiltshire Energy – Learn more about heat pumps and solar panels
  • Advice from trained Sustainable Warminster members – ready to provide personalised recommendations to enhance home energy efficiency
  • Warm & Safe Wiltshire – There will be leaflets offering advice from this service which Wiltshire Council provides in partnership with the Centre for Sustainable Energy to help residents live in safer and healthier home
  • Warminster Community Radio – Opportunities for people to shape local radio relevant to their interests
  • Warminster Lions Club – Focusing on serving Warminster and the surrounding area, Warminster Lions Club is part of the World’s largest service organisation. Supporting vision, the environment, childhood cancer, hunger, diabetes and more.

In addition to advice, the event promises a fun, family-friendly tombola and free children’s crafting with the Scrapstore using recycled materials. Refreshments and cakes, generously homemade by our wonderful members and kindly donated by Morrisons, Waitrose, and the Coop, will be available in the café area for attendees to enjoy free of charge or for a small donation.

“This event aims to provide valuable advice to as many people as possible in a welcoming, relaxed setting”, said event organisers Rebecca Krzyzosiak and Amy Darbyshire.

Sustainable Warminster extends its gratitude to Warminster School for preparing a special energy quiz, Warm & Well Wiltshire and The Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) for their support, as well as the Warminster Town Council and Futureproof Local Energy Advice Project for their generous grant funding, which has helped make this initiative possible.
