Warminster Town Council: Delivering a brighter, greener future for all

Three weeks to go until exciting Warminster Park Centenary event

5 July 2024

Preparations continue ahead of a very special celebration of the Lake Pleasure Grounds on Friday 26th July 2024. Exciting musical acts including an Elton John tribute act – Forever Elton, and Beatles Tribute act – The Beatles with an A have been booked and are ready to perform in the park.

Online tickets are now sold out for the hugely anticipated event – 100 years to the day the impressive grounds were originally opened. The celebrations are all ticketed and limited to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all.

The day is set to finish with a pyrotechnic plane display – Airborne Pyrotechnics, lighting up the sky (full timings to follow). The pyrotechnic planes should be visible from most of Warminster, for everyone to enjoy.

Other features of the event will be 1920’s themed fairground type games – along the lake side – past the boat house. These will be free to use. There will be food and drink vendors across the park as well as The Pavilion Café open to provide refreshments.

The Mayor of Warminster, Cllr Stacie Allensby said:

We are delighted to have booked some great musical acts – with the Warminster Park Centenary celebrations set to be another big event that brings the town together.”

The Lake Pleasure Grounds, located off Weymouth Street, Warminster were created after the First World War. The park was opened on the 26th July 1924 by the Marquis of Bath. The centenary event is set to be another event that unites the town and celebrates Warminster.
