Warminster Town Councillors made a trip to Weymouth Street to support Warminster Town Football Club in their final home game of the season on Wednesday 24th April.
The midweek game at home to Wells City in the Toolstation Western League First Division was also an opportunity for councillors to see recently installed new floodlights in action.
Warminster Town Councillors granted the club £30,000 from the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) to replace existing flood lighting at the ground and help grow youth projects at the popular club, preserving the future of the club. Warminster Town Football Club has contributed £10,000 towards the cost.

The existing floodlights were costly to run and not environmentally friendly.
Cllr Keeble previously said: “It’s a good use of CIL money, Warminster Town Football Club do lots of good work with youth engagement. It is good news for the town and great for sport.”
Warminster Town Council would like to thank the club for their hospitality. Warminster Town FC unfortunately lost 6-2 to Well City.
