Practical Ways of Dealing with a Changing Climate – Sustainability & Resilience Event in Westbury

Westbury Town Council is hosting a FREE event at The Laverton in Westbury with the aim of helping residents understand the small steps that can be taken to improve the climate situation for themselves and future generations.

Thursday October 30th from 10:00 – 5:00

Mike Amos from Waste to Wonder on ‘Challenging the Perception of Waste’

Chad Staddon Professor of Geography and Environmental Management at UWE on ‘Protecting our homes and families from climate extremes.’

University of Chelsea students showing their winning entry in a competition to repurpose office furniture.  ‘How Design can Inform Upcycling’

Jen Gale on ‘The Importance of Minimising Food Waste’

Wiltshire Wildlife Trust on ‘The Restorative Quality of Nature in the Wonderful Wildlife Space of Wiltshire’

A speaker TBC, on ‘Small Energy Changes to Make a Difference’

There will be stalls and the opportunity to talk with the speakers. If you can’t make it in person the event will be live streamed.
