Businesses urged to apply for grants as council launches Invest in Wiltshire initiative. Wiltshire Council is launching a new £1.35m grants scheme called Invest in Wiltshire to encourage businesses in the county to improve and expand their enterprises.
The grants must be used by businesses to improve productivity by buying new equipment, machinery or digital infrastructure; or improving premises and creating workspaces. All applications must show that they will create new jobs or better paid, more skilled jobs; and they must also help the business to decarbonise, for example, by reducing carbon-based energy usage or becoming more energy efficient.
The total funding available for Invest in Wiltshire grants is £1.35m. The funding has been provided with £350,000 through the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and £750,000 via the Rural Prosperity Fund.
Councillor Richard Clewer, Leader of Wiltshire Council and Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said: ‘As businesses continue to recover from the pandemic and the impact of ongoing national factors such as high inflation, it’s vitally important that we give them opportunities to grow, create jobs and boost the green economy – and Invest in Wiltshire does just that.’
This is a wonderful opportunity for Wiltshire businesses to grow by improving their premises and invest in tools and equipment, and as such it meets our Business Plan objectives to have a thriving economy and to seek to make the whole of Wiltshire carbon neutral.

We welcome applications from micro, small and medium-sized businesses and I’d urge all eligible enterprises in Wiltshire to consider how they could use this funding to supercharge their business and create new jobs – and to apply for a grant to Invest in Wiltshire.
