New Jersey, 1952. Entranced by his first visit to a movie theatre and haunted by the powerful imagery of Cecil B. DeMillie’s The Greatest Show on Earth, young Sammy Fabelman returns home seeking to recreate it. Encouraged by Mitzi, his doting mother, Sammy discovers an irresistible passion for making home movies, and his creative projects become increasingly ambitious. However, when he discovers a shattering family secret, Sammy has to embrace the slow process of growing up while pursuing his dream of to become a storyteller.
