Warminster Town Council: Delivering a brighter, greener future for all

Keep Constituency name say Town Councillors

30 March 2022

Warminster Town Council has responded to a consultation by the Boundary Commission for England on new Parliamentary Boundaries.

The Boundary Commission is suggesting that existing South West Wiltshire constituency be renamed Trowbridge and Warminster to reflect the two largest towns in the constituency.

Warminster Town Council unanimously opposed the renaming of the constituency as the current name is inclusive and a far better reflection of the whole area that our member of parliament is elected to represent

The new boundaries are similar to the existing boundaries except that the Tisbury Ward is transferred to the Salisbury Constituency.

Anyone wishing to add their own comments can do so at https://www.bcereviews.org.uk/node/6489?postcode=BA129AN but they will have to be quick as the consultation ends on 4th April.
