The council is comprised of 13 councillors. The current council was elected on 6th May 2021. These council members will continue to hold office until May 2025. Councillor Stacie Allensby was voted Mayor of Warminster, with Cllr Andrew Cooper, the Deputy Mayor, on the 13th May 2024 at the Annual Town Meeting, held at the Civic Centre.

    2024/25 Deputy Mayor Finance & Audit/ Highways Advisory/ Parks & Estate 

    Andrew Cooper represents Broadway Ward where he lives.  Engaging with residents on a personal level is what matters most to Andrew; he is well known in the community for being discreet, accessible to all and for his positive ‘can do’ attitude’.

    Andrew has a particular interest in traffic, safety and financial matters. He has contributed to delivering fair and effective budgets for local residents which meet community needs directly and has chaired the Town Council’s Finance and Audit Committee for three years.

    Andrew believes local politics should focus on serving the community and being accountable at all times.

    Denis hopes to make a difference by driving improvement in Warminster, particularly the Town Park Skate Park, Splashpad, Playground, Tennis courts and Café and to find a solution to the Boots/pharmacy situation.

    He tries to keep an open mind and a listening ear and is receptive to new ideas. He believes that it is important to be accessible to residents and make sure the people of Warminster always have a voice.

    Denis wants his ward residents to keep him updated with the matters that concern them most.

    Andrew has served the Warminster community for over 30 years and regularly engages with residents through social media. Andrew’s interest in environmental issues has led to involvement with local climate change and flood working groups.

    Sue’s primary motivation for being a councillor is to help improve the town and make Warminster a lovely place to live, work, and socialise. She is always available for residents to hear their concerns and bring them to council to find a solution wherever possible.

    Sue has been a councillor for 17 years and likes to think that she has contributed to the improvements that the council has made over the years. Her local knowledge has led to a keen interest in planning and development in Warminster.

    Steve is closely involved with addressing the needs of the residents of Warminster, recognising the importance of community engagement. He is active in promoting improved sporting opportunities for the town.

    Jack is hugely passionate about anything sport, environmental, or youth related. He is an active volunteer for many local community groups including the Warminster Action Group and The Athenaeum. Jack believes in a community-first approach and the importance of continuing to improve Warminster for its residents, young and old alike, and visitors.

  • Philip Keeble

    Phil is passionate about how the town is developed and that local decisions affecting growth, climate change and the economy are made by local people. He wants to help the regeneration of the town centre to again become a thriving place for retail, social and business and ensure Warminster is a safe and attractive place to visit. 

    Phil likes to engage with the community to hear ideas and concerns and to work collaboratively on the large important issues that affect the wider community. He hopes residents see him as approachable and helpful working for the best interests of the town and its people.

    James has lived in Warminster since the early 1960s and has always lived in Broadway ward. His work has led to involvement with the council’s allotments. James has a particular interest in the village of Imber and ImberBus Day. 

    James’s main priority is to help towards making Warminster a progressive and vibrant town with better and more varied opportunities and amenities for those who want to visit, live and work in the town. He also recognises the importance of maintaining Warminster’s historic and rural charm as a market town.

    Paul and his family are longstanding Warminster residents. Paul works for a local business and so has a vested interest in bringing new opportunities to the town, whilst working to ensure that the town can support new development.

    Highways Advisory/ Unitary Councillor

     

    Bill has lived in Warminster all his life and witnessed the town’s growth and development. His working career with civil engineering contractors and then Wiltshire Council working in highways and street scene has provided him with a wealth of experience which he puts to good use in his roles as a Unitary Wiltshire Councillor and Town Councillor.
