Warminster Town Council: Delivering a brighter, greener future for all

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022: Thurs 2nd June – Monday 6th June

11 April 2022

On 6th February this year Her Majesty the Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth. A special extended bank holiday weekend will provide an opportunity for communities and people throughout the United Kingdom to come together to celebrate the historic milestone.

You can read more information about the Jubilee here

To celebrate this anniversary Warminster Town Council has organised several events. They are:

A Jubilee Window Competition
Open to all local shops and businesses. To enter, simply create a Jubilee-themed window display. The public will be able to choose the winners by voting for their favourite on the Warminster Civic Centre & Town Council Facebook page or by popping into the Civic Centre. The winner will be announced on Monday 30th May 2022. Trophy and certificates to be presented by the Mayor of Warminster.

A week-long exhibition – A Walk Down Memory Lane with Her Majesty the Queen
Starting on Monday 30th in Warminster Civic Centre. This will be an exhibition of the Queen’s life and Warminster community memories of her Majesty the Queen.  The Town Council is asking the public to send in pictures (copies only) or written memories – 1 side of A4. Has the Queen inspired you? Have you met the Queen, or any of the Royal Family? What impact has the Queen had on your life? Please send your contribution to the Town Council either by coming into the Civic Centre or emailing admin@warminster-tc.gov.uk.

4 Day Bank Holiday Flags
Union Flags will be on display in all flagpole holders in the Town Centre from Thursday 2nd June – Monday 6th June.
